Take Control

Catch every episode
The TiVo service gives you ultimate control over your TV viewing by keeping track of the latest TV schedule and automatically recording every episode of your favorite shows, even if the day or time they air changes. All you do is find the show you want by searching or browsing the TV listings, and then specify whether you want to record an individual episode, or get all episodes of a show (with or without repeats!). We call this a Season Pass.

Avoid conflicts
No more choosing between shows airing at the same time! TiVo DVRs have two tuners, so they can record two different TV shows at the same time. (Which type of TV signals can be recorded varies by DVR model.)

You can even play back a third show that you've already saved while two new shows are recording.

Control live or recorded shows
Use pause, rewind, fast forward, instant replay, and slow motion to control live or recorded shows. TiVo DVRs can:

• Pause live or recorded shows (live TV can stay paused for 30 minutes)
• Rewind (3 different speeds)
• Fast forward (3 different speeds)

Multi-room viewing
Having two or more TiVo DVRs connected to your home network gives you two or more times the viewing freedom. Record a show on one TiVo DVR and watch it on another in the house. Start a movie in the living room and finish it in the bedroom!

Search & Record

Not only can you find and record favorites quickly and easily, the TiVo service scours thousands of hours of TV listings to make sure you're getting the most out of your TV.

Search for shows
You can search for shows by title, actor, category, or keyword with a specific word in the title or episode description, like "House". You can search for shows in a particular category, like "Cooking" shows about "Chocolate", or "Football" programs with "Giants". You can even find every movie with Johnny Depp, or every movie directed by Steven Spielberg. If it is available on your television lineup, the TiVo service can find it and record it for you.

Record by actor, director
Record even by your favorite sports team. Use a TiVo WishList search to find every show with your favorite actor, director, keyword, or sports team. Your TiVo DVR will save your search, and if you like, automatically record every new show that matches it. See some of the most popular Wishlist searches.

Swivel Search
Swivel from actors, to movies, to other actors, to other movies. Select your favorite director and see every movie available to record or download. Select one of those movies and see all of the actors in it. Select an actor and see the other movies they've starred in. When you've found a movie you like, see recommendations for other movies you might like. With Swivel Search, you can easily wander through the all of the TV shows and movies available on your TiVo DVR and record or download the ones that interest you.

See shows TiVo recommends just for you
TiVo Suggestions are personalized shows selected to match your preferences. Any time you watch a live TV or recorded show, or see something you like or don't like in the Guide, you can rate that show by using the THUMBS UP or the THUMBS DOWN buttons on your remote control.

When the TiVo DVR has empty space, it will automatically record shows that are liked by other people who like the same shows you do. This is an excellent way to discover new shows that may interest you. TiVo Suggestions never replace any shows you request, or prevent them from being recorded. Suggestions are always the first programs to be deleted when it's time for one of your shows to record.

KidZone

An extra set of eyes
With so many questionable shows available to your children, you need a second line of defense when you can't be in the room. TiVo restores your peace of mind with a host of family-friendly features, and lets you manage exactly what you want your children to watch.

Swivel from actors, to movies, to other actors, to other movies. Select your favorite director and see every movie available to record or download. Select one of those movies and see all of the actors in it. Select an actor and see the other movies they've starred in. When you've found a movie you like, see recommendations for other movies you might like. With Swivel Search, you can easily wander through the all of the TV shows and movies available on your TiVo DVR and record or download the ones that interest you.

You can choose to automatically record all of the shows they recommend, or select only those that interest you. Of course, you don't need to follow KidZone Guide recommendations. You can always choose exactly the shows you want your kids to be able to see.

Pre-approve kids TV
When you enable KidZone on your TiVo DVR, you can select the programs and channels that your children can watch. You can also block specific shows on channels that you have approved, to keep your kids from watching those shows you just can't stand. When you let your children watch TV, you'll be comfortable knowing they can only get to shows you've approved.

Kids can't see, cancel, or delete recordings
With TiVo KidZone, your kids can only see their own shows. They only have access to the KidZone Now Playing List, where the shows you have pre-approved appear. They can't get to any of your programs, or any of the DVR settings.

When it is grown-up TV time, just enter your four-digit password and the DVR will stay unlocked until you enter KidZone again. Or, let the DVR automatically re-lock itself when you leave it unused for four hours--so when the kids wake up the next morning, you know the TV is safe.

Connect & Expand

TiVo wireless adapter
Attach a TiVo wireless adapter and connect your TiVo DVR to your wireless home network and high-speed Internet connection to get all the benefits of movie downloads, music, photos, and more.

You can easily connect your TiVo DVR to your 802.11g or 802.11b wireless home network. Simply plug the adapter into the USB port on the back of your TiVo DVR. If your home network connects to the Internet, your TiVo DVR will now have access to the TiVo broadband features. With Amazon Video On Demand, movies are typically available the same day they are released on DVD. TV shows are typically available within days of the original broadcast. And now hundreds of new releases and all the latest episodes of your favorite shows are available in HD!

Movie rentals are usually $2.99 - $4.99 (with specials as low as 99 cents). Buy movies for $9.99 to $14.99 (with some titles as low as $5.49). TV show episodes may be purchased for as little as $1.89 each. There are even shows and bonus footage you can download for free.

Picasa Web albums is fast and easy photo sharing from Google. To share photos, create an account with picasa.google.com and upload your favorites. Then, let your friends and family know your user name, and they can find your public photos on their broadband-connected DVRs.

Forgot to set your favorite show to record? No problem! All you need to do is visit tivo.com or one of our partners like Yahoo! TV.

Schedule shows online
You can search for TV shows by title, category, keyword, or person in the Find TV shows section of tivo.com. You can browse by time and channel using the tivo.com TV listings guide.

When you've found the show you want to record, simply log in to your tivo.com account, select the DVR you want to set to record, and decide whether you want to record just that episode or every episode of the series. You have access to the same settings as you do when you set up a recording on the DVR itself. You will receive one email confirmation when your request is received and a second one when the DVR has reported back whether your show will record.

Put Shows On Your PC/Mac

Take-out TV and more
Even when you're on the move, TiVo ensures your entertainment experiences follow you anywhere you go. Just transfer your favorite shows to a laptop, an iPod, a PSP, or other compatible device and take them with you.

• Automatically transfer recordings from your network-connected TiVo DVR to watch on your computer
• Convert those shows to view on your portable media player using your PC or Mac
• Burn those shows and movies to a DVD and off you go.

TiVo Mobile

TiVo Mobile is yet another way for you to schedule recordings on your TiVo DVR when you're out and about.

TiVo Mobile scheduling lets you use your cell phone to schedule recordings on your TiVo DVR. With TiVo Mobile, you can view current TV listings; search for shows by title, actor, director, or keyword; or browse lists of most popular shows or daily picks. When you find a show you want to record, simply decide whether you want to record just that episode or every episode of the series, then TiVo Mobile will send the recording request to your TiVo DVR.

What do I need to get TiVo?

We have a TiVo DVR for almost every TV setup (except HD satellite). To get TiVo, you'll need:
